[00:00.000] 作词 : Mike Shi...
[00:00.000] 作词 : Mike Shinoda
[00:01.000] 作曲 : Mike Shinoda
[00:06.308] "My father, came from Japan, in 1905
[00:10.170] He was fifteen when he, immigrated from Japan
[00:13.779] He, he, he worked until he was able to buy
[00:16.448] To actually build a store"
[00:18.020] Let me tell you a story in the form of a dream
[00:19.991] I don't know why I have to tell it, but I know what it means
[00:22.378] Close your eyes, just picture the scene
[00:24.306] As I paint it for you
[00:25.437] It was World War II
[00:26.703] When this man named Kenji woke up
[00:28.354] Ken was not a soldier, he was just a man
[00:31.240] With a family who owned a store in L.A
[00:33.457] That day, he crawled out of bed like he always did
[00:36.437] Bacon and eggs with wife and kids
[00:38.096] He lived on the second floor of a little store he ran
[00:41.156] He moved to L.A. from Japan
[00:42.826] They called him immigrant, in Japanese
[00:44.888] He'd say he was called "issei"
[00:47.097] That meant first generation
[00:48.257] In the United States when
[00:50.009] Everybody was afraid of the Germans, afraid of the Japs
[00:52.666] But most of all, afraid of a homeland attack
[00:55.035] And that morning, when Ken went out on the doormat
[00:57.363] His world went black, 'cause
[00:59.144] Right there, front page news
[01:01.032] Three weeks before 1942
[01:03.220] Pearl Harbor's been bombed and "The Japs are Coming"
[01:05.624] Pictures of soldiers dying and running
[01:07.782] Ken knew what it would lead to
[01:09.483] And just like he guessed, the president said
[01:11.384] "The evil Japanese in our home country
[01:13.723] Would be locked away"
[01:14.936] They gave Ken a couple of days
[01:17.120] To get his whole life packed in two bags
[01:19.353] Just two bags, he couldn't even pack his clothes
[01:21.908] And some folks didn't even have a suitcase
[01:24.124] To pack anything in
[01:25.256] So two trash bags, is all they gave them
[01:27.691] And when the kids asked mom, "Where are we going?"
[01:30.093] Nobody even knew what to say to them
[01:32.297] Ken didn't wanna lie
[01:33.412] He said, "The U.S. is looking for spies
[01:35.268] So, we have to live in a place called Manzanar
[01:38.113] Where a lot of Japanese people are"
[01:40.380] Stop it, don't look at the gunmen
[01:41.942] You don't wanna get the soldiers wondering
[01:44.317] If you're gonna run or not
[01:45.872] 'Cause if you run, then you might get shot
[01:47.653] Other than that, try not to think about it
[01:49.966] Try not to worry 'bout it being so crowded
[01:52.518] 'Cause someday, we'll get out
[01:54.268] Someday, someday
[01:55.886] "Yeah, soon as war broke out, the FBI came and
[01:59.720] They just come through the house and, you have to come
[02:02.838] All the Japanese have to go
[02:04.850] They took Mr. Ni, the people couldn't understand
[02:08.173] Why they had to take him because he's an innocent laborer."
[02:12.040] So now, they're in a town with soldiers surrounding them
[02:14.752] Every day, every night, looked down at them
[02:17.094] From watchtowers up on the wall
[02:19.119] Ken couldn't really hate them, at all
[02:21.048] They were just doing their job
[02:22.569] And he wasn't gonna make any problems
[02:25.265] He had a little garden
[02:26.927] Vegetables and fruits that he gave to the troops
[02:29.064] In a basket his wife made
[02:30.517] But in the back of his mind, he wanted his family's life saved
[02:33.683] Prisoners of war in their own damn country, what for?
[02:36.535] And time passed in the prison town
[02:38.688] He wondered if he'd live it down
[02:40.182] If and when they were free
[02:41.400] The only way out was joining the Army, and supposedly
[02:44.636] Some men went out for the army, signed on
[02:47.121] And ended up flying to Japan with a bomb
[02:49.274] That fifteen kiloton blast
[02:51.545] Put an end to the war pretty fast
[02:53.813] Two cities were blown to bits
[02:55.296] The end of the war came quick
[02:57.043] And Ken got out, big hopes of a normal life
[02:59.605] With his kids and his wife, but
[03:01.516] Then they got back to their home
[03:03.287] And what they saw made him feel so alone
[03:05.547] These people had trashed every room
[03:07.749] Smashed in the windows and bashed in the doors
[03:10.000] Written on the walls and the floor
[03:11.570] "Japs not welcome, anymore!"
[03:13.586] And Kenji dropped both of his bags at his sides
[03:15.937] And just stood outside
[03:17.310] He looked at his wife without words to say
[03:19.672] She looked back at him, wiping tears away
[03:22.008] And said, "Someday, we'll be okay, someday"
[03:25.195] Now, the names have been changed, but the story is true
[03:27.739] My family was locked up, back in '42
[03:29.998] My family was there, where it was dark and damp
[03:32.328] And they called it an internment camp
[03:34.566] "When we first got back from camp, uh
[03:37.064] It was pretty, pretty bad."
[03:39.227] "I-I remember, my husband said
[03:42.184] "Oh we're gonna stay 'til last."
[03:44.431] Then my husband died, before they closed the camp."
